Natalie & Rob

Natalie & Rob

Natalie, the Director of Marketing at Omi Gems and Omi Prive, recently married Rob. Their rings are special. Natalie took her grandmother’s antique ring and replaced the center stone with one from Omi Gems. Natalie also surprised Rob with a Todd Reed band. Rob originally never wanted to wear a ring, but ended up loving the one Natalie chose.

Here is the story of how they met:
I was attending a friends wedding at a country club in Los Angeles back in 2010. Rob was a sous chef at that country club. There was a buffet dinner and I had just finished eating when I glanced over and saw the most handsome chef at the meat carving station. I elbowed my friend and said “Wow look at that guy! I want to talk to him!” Even though I had already eaten, and I’m not a huge prime rib fan, I decided to go get a second plate just so I could talk to this cute guy! I walked up to him and we said hello and he asked me which cut of meat I would like and I told him the end piece. He said “that’s the best piece, my favorite!” Later in the evening as I was sitting at the table and the wedding was winding down, someone came from behind me and set down a single fruit tart and at the top was a piece of paper with the name Robert and phone number. I about died as I turned around to see him smiling. No one had ever done something so cute and romantic to give me their phone number! And he was a very patient man, because I had tucked away his number in the clutch I took to the wedding and didn’t call him for two months! Then for the next 4 months we texted occasionally but never were able to get together. Finally, 6 months later we had our first date. When I met him at the restaurant I sat down and the very first thing he said to me is “there’s something special about you.” Of course I thought it was a cheesy loaded line and it made me laugh, but it seems he just knew I was “the one” from the moment he met me. The rest is history!
