The night of February 25th in the Boulder Showroom was exceptional. Conference on World Affairs Community Chair Betsy Hand, along with Dana James and Tina Marquis, organized an amazing gathering of community members to consider and vote on panelists for the upcoming April Conference.

“The Conference on World Affairs brings a world of thought leaders together to discuss ‘everything conceivable’ with the residents and students of Boulder. Founded in 1948 as a forum on world affairs, the CWA expanded rapidly in its early years and now encompasses the arts, media, science, technology, politics, business, human rights, and more. The event reaches viewers throughout Colorado and the nation as well through live streaming, video and audio recordings, which are archived over many decades.”

Todd Reed hosted, and the crowd gathered amid lighted showcases filled with his handmade jewelry. Everyone enjoyed hors d’oeuvres from G&B Culinary. A surprise performance by CU’s premier acapella group “In the Buff” filled the Showroom with contemporary song. Then the ballots came out, and the crowd broke off into groups to get down to the serious and enriching business of choosing several of the CWA panelists.

After the votes were cast and ballots were handed in, Todd capped off the night with a metalsmithing demonstration in the Boulder Studio.

Todd Reed often hosts community events in his Boulder Showroom, and after the most recent renovation, which effectively doubled the footprint, there is not only more room to shop, but more room to host and support community events.

The Conference of World Affairs is free and runs from April 9th through April 13th on the University of Colorado’s Boulder Campus. Learn more about the event here.
