“The challenge for an artist is always to find your own way of doing something.” – Tom Wesselmann
We have been supporting the Denver Design Council for several years now and always feel grateful to have amazing opportunities due to our participation in the group. They put on really great events quite often.
Last night I had the chance to get a private tour by the curator of the Tom Wesselmann exhibit, now at the Denver Art Museum. While I love art, it’s even more interesting when someone is taking you through and sharing their passion for the art with you. Danielle Stephens, the curator, did an excellent job sharing stories behind each piece.
Wesselmann is considered one of the leading figures of American pop art – he was constantly reinventing himself which is shown through this chronologically organized exhibit.
He was very much a fan of artist Williem de Kooning, who Todd also admires.
Below are some of my favorites from the exhibit –
The exhibit runs through September 14th!
