You know that feeling you get when you are looking deeply at something completely natural – a leaf, a flower, maybe a branch or a piece of stone – and all of a sudden it hits you: Nature has created something so absolutely perfect, so beautiful, that it takes your breath away.
Even the imperfections are essential to its overall wonder.
With the arrival of Fall, this week we are reminded of Nature’s immense beauty. As a result, we wanted to share one of our favorite artists with you. His name is Andy Goldsworthy, perhaps you have heard of him?
Andy’s art abides by the concept of ephemeral change; “Movement, change, light, growth and decay are the lifeblood of nature, the energies that I try to tap through my work,” he states. His work is incredibly fragile and intentionally temporary, holding space in a timeless fashion only sometimes to be destroyed within moments by the natural causes that had once helped to shape it.
Below you will find some of his work, but do not limit yourself to these few samples. We urge you to dive further into his story and admire his many achievements.
